Fundamentals check
Six questions on bracing, the hinge, and programming. Pass it and you've graduated.
Six questions covering the whole course. There’s no timer and no penalty for retakes - the goal is to catch anything worth re-watching before you start your twelve weeks.
1. What is the goal of bracing before a lift?
Bracing means breathing into the trunk - front, sides, and back - and gently sealing that pressure so the midsection works as one unit.
2. In a hinge, what should the shins be doing?
The hinge sends the hips back while the shins stay nearly vertical - that's what separates it from a squat.
3. Why do coaches keep using the deadlift as a diagnostic tool?
The bar refuses to lie: a rounded back, a lazy setup, or a rushed pull all show up right away in the bar path.
4. You missed one training session this week. What does the program say to do?
The program is written around missed days: skip the guilt, keep the schedule, never 'make up' volume.
5. When should you add weight during weeks one to four?
Progress is earned by quality: clean sessions unlock the next small jump.
6. What makes a rest day 'count as training'?
Adaptation happens during recovery. A deliberate rest day is part of the program, not a pause in it.
